Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), a critical coenzyme present in every living cell, is involved in a myriad of metabolic processes associated with cellular bioenergetics. For this reason, NAD+ is often studied in the context of aging, cancer, and neurodegenerative and metabolic disorders.

Whats so great about NAD+!? (Not NMN, NR oral supplements)
Firstly I got to say in my experience theres soooo few compounds – treatments – “tools” that can make a huge positive impact on energy and FAST. NAD+ sounds like your typical snake oil nonsense only it actually delivers!!
It cant be patented, it’s a bioidentical coenzyme, it’s been around for DECADES. Companies and “experts” are always trying to promote some new NAD+ booster product but so far NOTHING has impressed.
When it simply comes to what works, REAL NAD+ used via subcutaneous injections and or IV is what delivers for MOST PEOPLE.
NOT every single person does amazing with NAD+, I don’t want to B/S and pretend like it has a 100% hit rate but the vast. majority notice a real benefit and fast. Unlike countless other supplements where your told take it for 6 – 8 weeks to evaluate efficacy. Sorry but 6 – 8 weeks is a long time if you’re struggling bad with energy!! Ive gone through chronic fatigue and it sucks. NAD+ was a game changer for myself and continues to be a tool I utilize as needed to stay feeling my best.
For just a little context:
NAD+ is so crucial that if it did not EXIST….ALL Life on earth would Cease to exist….
No exaggeration its a simple FACT its that crucial to LIFE and energy production. A part of the aging – breaking down process is declining levels of NAD+.
I will cut my declaration of love short here and lay out some useful tips!!
NAD+ Subcutaneous Dosing:
- Based on Expert Opinion
- Based on my Personal Experience 5+ Years cycling NAD+
- Based on Community Feedback, Clients and Clinical
NAD+ can be used via 2 Different Administrations:
- Subcutaneous injections of anywhere from 10mg – 200mg+ (depending on tolerance and needs)
- IV Infusions 250mg – 1500mg+
Important CAVEATS:
IV infusions are expensive $300 – $750+, Time consuming 1.5hrs – 3hrs+ and can have NORMAL side effects during the infusion.
Now in my experience that price tag when your really struggling with chronic fatigue and or other more severe health issues or your a top performing entrepreneur, athlete etc that price tag is worth it!!
BUT BUT BUT
There is no one size fits all compound, I’m not going to B/S people and say every single person does amazing with it.
Based on feedback about 85-90% of people respond right away, meaning they notice energy boost after very first IV or Subcu injection.
But some simply dont feel good from it, it is believed this has to do with individuals methylation status but theres NO clear indication.
MTFHR gene DOES NOT directly correlate with NAD+ issues.
ALL this to say I want to set realistic expectations for people.
IF NAD+ is a good fit for you its life changing tool. It will reboot someone’s NATURAL energy like nothing else. It’s a tool that can be used ongoing for YEARs.
Now of course perfect world scenario we would figure out WHY someone energy is lacking and work on that root issue.
NAD+ absolutely could help on the root problem but like ALL chronic health issues these are often times multifactorial problems that require an entire functional systems – holistic approach to address from ALL ANGLES.
ALL of this caveat talk is to say IN MY OPINION if money is tight which for many of us in todays crazy world it is…
The most cost effective way to TEST NAD+ to see if it’s something your body is going to respond fast to is by doing subcutaneous injections.
IF you do amazing with subcutaneous injections then you will absolutely love IV infusions.
This is another one I could write a book on sharing all the nuances and best approaches but I need to wrap this up before I put some people to sleep!!
Best NAD+ Subcu Dosing Approach:
- Starting Dose around 25mg
- Individuals who tend to be sensitive to exogenous compounds should go LOWER
- Taper Dose until you notice an energy boost within 1-1.5 hours
- For myself I catch the NAD+ “second wind” with natural energy in 45minute – 60 minutes. I of course do amazing with NAD+
- I take ZERO supplements to pair with NAD+ and do great
- SOME benefit from taking TMG, Extra Aminos, B Vitamins and or quercetin
My personal approach with sub dosing is I ONLY take it on days Im really run down and need energy.
But it would also function amazing for an extremely demanding sport event, school work and or work project thats highly demanding. It’s an extremely versatile compound!!
Dose RANGE that works best for me after 4+ Years Cycling:
- Basic Energy Boost 50 – 75mg
- Rundown – Fatigued – Bad Night Sleep 100 – 150mg
- Sleep deprived – Really Struggling 150+mg
- 200mg is the most I’ve used in a day and is VERY HIGH I wouldn’t advise this to ANYONE newer too NAD+
NAD+ IV Infusion Optimal Protocol:
- Based on my experience and client feedback
- 1 Infusion of 500mg may or MAY NOT provide a noticeable difference.
- Which is why I like people trialing subcu first so they don’t make a big investment just to be let down. :((
The OPTIMAL way to really see what NAD+ can fully do for you is by doing a moderate to high dose Loading Protocol.
YES Expensive, but if your a good responder to NAD+ the loading IV protocol floods the body with additional cellular energy which can do amazing things for boost energy, well being, mental clarity, detox, cellular repair etc etc

Loading Protocol:
- 500mg – 750mg+ for 4-5 days STRAIGHT
- Clinic should do a Vitamin, Amino flush bag after each IV to further support the NAD+ utilization and give it the necessary raw materials to be best utilized!!
- High Doses are used for addiction recovery and severe situations 1000mg – 1500mg+ for up to 2 weeks in EXTREME situations
- Some common NORMAL side effects during IV which can be mitigated by SLOWING the drip rate. (Increased HR, Chest Pressure, Stomach pressure, Head Pressure, Mild Nausea)
- ALL of these side effects can controlled by slowing drip rate but be aware NO ONE feels zero side effects during IV. For myself all side effects cease within 15 minutes of finishing the drip
